First visit to the new Mt. Gambier store today. I'm just under 5 ft. Tall, (and so are a lot of other people.)The only trollies supplied are so ridiculously huge and heavy, and the handle was almost level with my shoulders. I found it almost impossible to handle, let alone retrieve the few small items from the bottom!
There were also NO baskets.Obviously you are expected to fill that giant thing!Aldi, if you want to attract maximum customers, you do need to remember that not everyone is tall and strong. Every other supermarket gives options - why can't you?Not a good start. First shop at Aldi- noticed most of the brand names were not heard of- so we looked at the packaging. Every brand from every product is OWNED by Aldi. From canned goods, tuna, dairy, chicken. There were 3 different tuna brands- all containing the same product, packaged in Thailand from Thailand caught tuna- but different prices. We also noticed that most of the products contained alarmingly large amounts of chemical preservatives and acidity regulators!Almond milk for example- 2.5% almonds! Chemical emulsifier, preservative, acidity regulato. Read more r, and tapioca flour!
Their hommus dip also contained a tiny amount of chick peas and the rest was artificial flavours and other rubbish. We took those products back.Make sure you read the labels on what your consuming.Poor quality products with pretty packaging people. The other day we purchased milk from one of your store (Belmont Forum Shopping Centre, Belmont, WA). After using it, we all fell sick. I spent most part of the last night in the hospital with my 2 sons and wife who were continuously vomiting.
In the morning, I started vomiting (and could not go to work). Now, a few hours back I just found out that a guest lady who visited us with her two children and used the same milk is also in the same boat - vomiting, and being treated. The milk is/was not expired, we checked.Though we are not entering. Read more ALDI stores again, probably you should ensure that you are not playing with consumers' health. In the past, quite a few times actually, I have seen rotten banana bread on the shelves there.
This is the end of our introduction with a crappy company like ALDI. I shop at aldi every week, and i enjoy the products and the savings. I had discovered 2 products recently and really loved them, however, when i went to purchase 1 of the products in my weekly shop, i found the product had been discontinued, i was quite annoyed but decided i could get it elsewhere, but the price was more inflated. Then today i went to purchase the other product with my weekly shop and found that it also has been discontinued. To say i was really annoyed is an understatement. So now i have decided to stop shopping at aldi i may be able to save money shopping there but, your products are to unreliable so i will be paying more, but at least i know i will be able to get it.

I shop weekly at Aldi and, most of the time, I am happy with the quality of the products. However, when it comes to fresh produce on special, you really need to be very careful, as this avocado bought yesterday for $ 1.49 proves. It is the second one from the same bunch that I will have to throw away. The baby cucumbers are usually, crunchy and good when fresh. However, being a bit pricey, probably do not sell that well and, by the time they are on special, they have long past their best days. This has been my only source of disappointment with Aldi. I wish they will stop trying to cheat the costumers just to keep the profits up. It started with the bbq shapes equivalent they started terrific, then the flavour salts became less flavour ( as can be seen by the red and green flavour bits gone missing on all but a few in the packet ) and more salt, same happened with the cheddar flavour terrific to start, then less and less cheese flavour and more plain salt, now its the chicken crinkles no chicken flavour anymore just a very fine salt. Mostly Aldi has very good products but slight changes like dish washing detergent reduced from a litre to 900ml most people wouldn't notice but I did little cost cutting practices.
Because I saw that Aldi Spinach and Cheese Gozleme was very popular, I decided to try it. Before I give it a review I want you to know I love Aldi and have convinced my family to do their shopping there. Anyway back to the Gozleme.
I thought it would be some portions in the pack, but no. It was just one huge square of what looked like puff pastry. Method for cooking was to fry it. Well, first of all I do not have a big square fry pan to accommodate this and I really don't like to fry as I prefer my air fryer for such jobs. However, I tried t. Read more o do this anyway. I cut the square in half to fit and all this cheesy sort if powder fell out.
I fried it pushing the filling back ( in very little oil) and when it was golden brown on both sides took it off the heat. The result was warm golden pastry with cold filling.yuk! I put the other half in the oven and had more success. The result of my experience was opposite to what I read on line. I had talked my son into purchasing it also, so before he had a chance to cook it, I took it back for a refund. I must say this review has done nothing to change my mind about Aldi as I'll still continue to shop there.
